Joining the effort to save the Yellowstone Cutthroat in Yellowstone Lake

Eastyellowstone TU chapter members volunteer to catch invasive lake trout for radio tagging.  Live lake trout
are quickly transferred to the USGS boat staffed by fisheries biologists from the Yellowstone Lake Working
Group.  Biologists anesthetize, implant transmitter, determine sex by ultrasound, and release them to reveal
their spawning beds to scientists this fall. Suppression of lake trout is leading to the recovery of the native
Cutthroat Trout in the lake.
