Bighorn Basin Fly Fishing Fair

The Fly Fishing Fair held in Cody on Saturday May 11 was an overwhelming success! Eighty five participants attended the event to learn how to tie flies, set up cast a fly rod, master knots, and learn about conservation and aquatic insects.

Sponsored by the East Yellowstone Chapter of Trout Unlimited, North Fork Anglers and Wyoming Outdoorsmen, the event was well received by participants young and old.

Participants won door prizes including an Orvis Encounter fly rod and reel, fly tying kits and tools, and gift certificates. In honor of Mothers Day, all women who participated received a fly box with flies and were eligible for free membership to Trout Unlimited. Twenty six women took advantage of the offer. We look forward to holding the event next spring.
